Samsung Blu-ray players won’t play Warner, Universal movies after firmware update, require a rollback
As annoying as continuous Blu-ray player updates are, usually having the latest one is the best way to play more movies. Unfortunately the opposite was the case for Samsung ( again ) with the v2.09 update posted recently for its 2009 BD-Px600 line of players. Forum posters on CNET and AVSForum report the upgrade blocked them from playing Universal and Warner Bros. movies, which conveniently lock …

Star Wars Blu-ray: George, don’t do that
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, there was a beloved film trilogy. Not any more, if Star Wars’ impending Blu-ray release has anything to do with it A 1988 congressional hearing heard that colourising old black-and-white films would constitute “destruction of our film heritage”. The speaker’s statement continued: “In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and …

Answer by Stephen M
No, you can not watch a blu-ray movie on a regular DVD. (why would they have blu-ray players then?) You can watch regular DVDs on a blu-ray however. No, you do not NEED a high def TV, but it will be a waste of money to have bought one without a HDTV. At the VERY least, you would need to make sure both your TV and the particular blu-ray player have the same variety of AV connection, else you will not even be able to hook them up.

Dj doesn’t have a clue as to what he/she is talking about. Or what is their take on why my blu-ray has HDMI, component, and even S-video outputs?

Blu-ray Review: Black Orpheus — Criterion Collection
Before 1959 it’s said that Americans and Europeans had never experienced the Brazilian culture in cinema — to them, Brazil was simply an exotic, far-off place and not much was known about the country as a whole (at least in the mainstream). Then Marcel Camus’ Black Orpheus hit and the image of the …

Thank you..
